วัดไชยโยวรวิหาร (Wat Chaiyo Worawihan)
Wat Chaiyo Worawihan is a second ranked royal monastery, classified as worawihan, under the clergy of Maha-Nikaya, located to the east of Chao-Praya River. Number 21 Mu 3 Sub-District Chaiyo, District of Chaiyo in Ang Thong province. It was established in 1757 and was granted land from the King in 1890 where, later on, the temple was founded a royal monastery, 1887Chaiyo Worawihan or Wat Ket Chaiyo in Chaiyo Subdistrict, Chaiyo District, Thong Province, which was formerly a Rat Temple. Built the temple in the style of Ayutthaya and you will not be able to see the history of who was the great health care expert. Buddhacarya (Topramarn) next made bigger history at this temple during the reign of King Rama IV.
Feature
Visit Phra Maha Phuttha Phim Buddha image, known as Luang Por To built by the Phra Chao Pradit Worakarn. It is a meditative Buddha image with distinguished characteristics without a fixed format. You will notice that the face and ears are like ordinary people's. There are wrinkles on the robes of the Buddha image.
History
It is a first-class royal temple. Formerly, it was an old public temple called Wat Chaiyo. When Somdej Puttajarn (To Phromrangsi), the abbot of Rakhang Kositaram temple, chose this temple to build a large Buddha image enshrined outdoors. They said that the construction of this Buddha image took almost three years, completed in the reign of King Rama IV. Then, Somdej Buddhachan offered Chaiyo temple as a royal temple and named Ket Chaiyo temple.
