Wat Sri Chum temple | Sukhothai Province

Wat Sri Chum is home to a large seated Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, measuring 11.30 meters across the lap and 15 meters high from the base to the top of the flame halo. It is called "Phra Achana", meaning "the unshakable one". It is rumored that he is a talking Buddha. It is assumed that Wat Sri Chum was built during the reign of King Ramkhamhaeng the Great and became a deserted temple in the late Ayutthaya period until 1952.
“Wat Sri Chum” is one of the most famous temples in Sukhothai Province. It is a historical tourist attraction filled with the beauty of ancient architecture such as the ‘Phra Buddha in the Mara-Vijaya posture’ which was built using bricks and laterite as the core to be formed using cement, resulting in a beautiful retro art that is hard to find.
